Michael Kolain

Position: Executive Board

Michael Kolain is a legal scholar and conducts research at the interface between law, technology and public policy. Since October 2022 he works as advisor for digital policy in the German parliament. Before he was scientific coordinator of the research unit "Transformation of the State in the Digital Age" at the German Research Institute for Public Administration" (Head: Prof. Dr. Mario Martini), a member of the Expert Panel of the European Blockchain Observatory and Forum (EUBOF), a representative of consumer interest in blockchain standardization (DIN/CEN/ISO) and an independent expert engaged, among others, with, the think tank iRights.Lab in Berlin. He is interested in the regulation and implementation of digital technologies in both private and public sector - with current focus on Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, GreenIT and GovTech.
