The European Commission adopted two new Directives to adapt liability rules to the digital age, circular economy and the impact of global value chains. The purpose of the ‘AI Liability Directive’ is to lay down uniform rules for access to information and alleviation of the burden of proof in relation to damages caused by AI systems. The Revised Product Liability Directive proposes to modernise the existing rules on the strict liability of manufacturers for defective products in light of digital evolutions. Both proposal will be discussed during this short lunch webinar. The main provisions as well as the strengths and remaining challenges/hurdles will be addressed. There will be room for questions and debate.
